The Same Thing, Only Different (Bluets)

My favorite Spring wildflower isn't the brightest or showiest; in fact, the bluet is so tiny, it could easily be missed.  It doesn't grow here in Kenton County, where I live, nor in southwest Ohio, where I grew up.  When we bought property on the Kinniconick Creek in Lewis County, I was excited to discover many species of  plants I had never seen before.  A delicate little four-lobed star of pale blue with a bright yellow center, I couldn't help thinking of it as a faerie flower.

See what I mean?

  2. I like these little blue flowers with yellow centers...they look like they are growing low to the ground...beautiful. On my screen they are rather lavender. I had a week of pink tulips (purchased) that became a real spirit lifter.

  4. So delicate, yet strong; simple yet intricate in their very being.
These blue charmers make me think of another post I saw this morning by another artist, Forest Dream Weaver, who has captured their very essence

  5. I love delicate little wildflowers - this one reminds me a little of blue eyed grass that pops up daintily now and again around my garden.

  7. Your great photography revived my memories of Shabo Mekaw once again. Loved the shot along the stone foundation wall with azaleas in distance.
