Searching For Roy G Biv Again

Last year's search for Roy G Biv was so much fun, I've decided to play again!  Jennifer Coyne Qudeen and Julie Booth are once again hosting this year-long, color-drenched blog hop. As you may know, the R in the mnemonic ROY G BIV stands for Red, the first color in the spectrum of visible light, better known as the rainbow.

It was easy to find lots of reds in the bright store displays during the holidays...

The eye is so easily drawn to all this sparkly stuff...

... the shiny silvers and golds and of course REDs...

The cold weather at this time of year has me missing one of my favorite warm-weather activities...

... Kayaking!

It just so happens my kayak is red...

... as is this small mixed-media piece called Strange Weather...

... and one called Glimpses, which showcases a completely different shade of red.

Make sure you hop over to Jennifer's or Julie's blogs to check out all the other reds!

Searching for RoyGBiv

I hope I'm not too late, but I was so inspired by all the beautiful reds I've seen that I decided to post some, too.  What I'm talking about is Jennifer Coyne Qudeen's "Searching for RoyGBiv", in which bloggers will post their colors on the third Thursday of the month.  As you can see, I'm a day late and a dollar short, but red is just what I needed to melt away my frozen winter blues, so here goes!

And Jennifer, if I'm too late, no worries; I hope you all enjoy the photos anyway!

Flaming Red

Hi, all!  Just a quick little Spring waker-upper for your eyeballs, courtesy of my amaryllis...

And a big thanks to everyone who answered my plea for help on my last post- great suggestions!  Now, back the drawing board...

Red Tara(s)

My friend Mish saw the gold and green Taras and asked if I could make her red, or black, or white. Those are her other colors, you see, in some of her 21 aspects. So, I started thinking, Hmmmmm.... I guess I took it as a challenge, to see if I, as a Photoshop beginner, so to speak, could figure out how to manifest these color changes. Here are some of my attempts at Red Tara. It's a lot harder than it seems like it would be- you can't just push the color bar over to red (darn!). Can I do black or white? We'll see...
